Nowadays, Vietnam has two paper manufacturing enterprises with large capacity: Vietnam Paper Corporation (Vinapaco) and An Hoa Paper Joint Stock Company. Bai Bang Paper Factory uses intermittent sulphate cooking technology and An Hoa Paper Joint Stock Company applies continuous cooking technology with new equipment lines, however, plastic residue still causes many difficulties (causing pipe blockage, clogging the liquid filter in continuous cooking pot, etc.).

Some solutions have been applied in chip storage, adding the dispersing aids in the cooking process, etc., but have not yet brought real effects.
The new trend is to apply microorganisms that decompose plastic and enzymes into the pre-treatment of wood materials and in the pulp production process to reduce the amount of added chemicals, reduce plastic deposits and reduce waste water treatment pressure.
In the world, there have been many studies and applications of probiotics and resin-based enzymes to help the paper production process be more efficient and environmentally friendly.
Some commercially available enzyme preparations such as groups Resinase, Lipadase, Buzyme are used to remove resin in pulp and fiber.
In the international market, Cartapip (New Zealand) is available with Ophitoma piliterum, used mainly to remove the sap in soft wood chips.Studies on the removal of resin for acacia wood which is the main material in Vietnam’s paper production are mostly in shortage.
With the development of the domestic paper industry and the need to use microbiological preparations to remove sap in the raw materials for pulp production and export, it is necessary to study the route to select the mushroom strains capable of removing plastics to serve the manufacture of biological products.
